BAYAN started boxing at a young age and had a successful amateur career including a 2021 quarter-final in the ABAE Championships.
 

Managed by VIP head Steve Wood and trained by Ricky Hatton, he turned pro in December 2022 and started his pro career with a comfortable four round points win over Estonian Dmitri Protkunas.

Tough Jake Smith was next in March 2023 and the Doncaster traveller was outboxed over four rounds. Khalil taking it 40-36 on the card. It was the same outcome in June when he took all four rounds against excellent journeyman Rustem Fatkhullin.
