GREG had his first fight under the VIP Promotions banner in November 2021 when he outpointed 8-1 Igor Lazarev over six rounds.

He turned professional in December 2019 stopping fellow debutant Connor Oliver inside a round and three months later outpointed Jamie Quinn. McGuinness won every round in his fourth fight against veteran Lee Connelly, but had to work hard for all six rounds to claim a shutout.

Although he trained in a boxing gym as a youngster, McGuinness never took the sport seriously until he was 24.
