OWEN made his debut on a VIP show in Bolton in September 2021 and outpointed Josh Hodgins 39-37.

Pro fight number two was another points win over VIP-managed journeyman Danny Little, winning all four rounds.

The script was ripped up in April 2022, when he dropped a 39-37 decision against Jake Bray where he never truly settled after damaging a thumb early on.

He returned to winning ways in Bolton three months later when he easily outpointed Josh Cook.

In October 2022 he went in the away corner against Bray who had a home advantage in Doncaster, and although he looked to have edged it, referee Ron Kearney scored a 58-58 draw.

Kirk didn’t return until July 2023 and had to be content with the spoils yet again in a 57-57 draw with VIP stablemate Rhys Woods.

Three months later he was back in action, but it was an evening to forget at Liverpool Arena when he was overcome inside the first round by VIP stablemate Paddy Lacey.

Owen has a chance to end the year on a high when he boxes Marcus Tomlinson in Bolton on December 9.
