RICKY STARKEY is nicknamed ‘The Battalion Stallion’ after time spent in the Army as a soldier where he won multiple amateur titles.


He won his first two professional bouts against Joe Beeden and Brett Fidoe, but then became one of British boxing’s proud road warriors.


Starkey has mixed with some of the best prospects among Britain’s lighter weights and fought 17 unbeaten fighters.


Among those he has boxed on his travels are Sean McGoldrick, Gamal Yafai, Qais Ashfaq, Louie Lynn and Chris Bourke.


In 2021, he boxed twice losing on points to Matt Craddock and Mikey Young.


He started 2022 with an outing on the Amir Khan v Kell Brook undercard. There, he boxed Abdul Khan, Amir’s cousingand went down on points.
