SEAN CAIRNS showed his championship qualities in March 2020, winning the Central Area Bantamweight crown when Lee Clayton retired on his stool after four rounds.
That win proved how well Cairns did to get his career on track after back to back points losses to Brett Fidoe in November 2018 and Commonwealth Games gold medallist Sean McGoldrick
three months later.

‘The Comanche’ recovered from those setbacks with confidence boosting wins against Luke Fash, Ricky Leach and Taka Bembere, ahead of becoming a champion.
Cairns started boxing professionally in November 2017 and scored a hat-trick of wins before his first professional defeat against Fidoe.

He did step up in November 2020, but was on the receiving end in a vacant English
Bantamweight title fight against Liam Davies before he was retired after six rounds by trainer Robbie Butler.

Sean had a year out after that setback, but bounced back well at Liverpool Olympia, stopping Kieran McAfee inside a round.
