TAIWO AGBAJE was snapped up by VIP after being recommended by his trainer Alex Matvienko in the summer of 2021. He had his first nine fights in Ghana and Nigeria, and ended a 21 month lay-off when he had his first VIP fight in September 2021 in his adopted hometown, Bolton. Then he won all six rounds against Jayro Duran and had another shut out result when he outpointed Chrstian Lopez Flores three weeks later. He believes moving to Bolton with his wife and their two children will help him make his name in boxing.

 

Taiwo told the Bolton News: “I was eight-years-old when I got
into it and always wanted to become a champion, so I asked my
family to help me get to England, where there is more support.
“I lived a rough life. I was brought up in the ghetto, so my family
are poor, and I needed to do something to make money quickly.
“I just didn’t want to beg on the streets, but my country does not
help me, so I had to rely on myself.”
