MOULD TELLS GHAZ: "Its all about levels"

Reece Mould is convinced that mixing with top class opposition in the past will help wreck Hamed Ghaz’s unbeaten record.

The VIP Boxing star jumps two weights to tackle his fellow Yorkshireman at Doncaster Racecourse on Saturday October 8 with the vacant IBO Continental and English Lightweight titles on the line, live and FREE on SportystuffTV. Mould (15-1, 6 KOs) is a former English Featherweight champion and his only defeat came in a British title challenge last year against Leigh Wood, the current WBA World champion. Ghaz (18-0, 4 KOs) has been a pro since November 2014, but the majority of his fights have been four and six rounders.

Mould who also has hometown advantage said: “I have won the English title and boxed Wood for the British. “I have been in with a lot better opponents. “No disrespect to Ghaz, but he has just been punching journeymen about. “It was hard after the Wood loss, but it has helped seeing what he has since achieved. I showed I can compete at that level, Ghaz hasn’t shown that yet. “I had moved to Super-Featherweight and we got the call to fight Ghaz with two belts on the line so we took it. “I am fairly big at the weight, I can punch at Lightweight so it’s not going to be a problem. “He has fought at that weight a lot longer, but I don’t think there will be much in it size wise at all.” “The last big fight was against Wood so it’s good to be back up there. If I get a good win here and take him out it will show what I can do even at Lightweight. “When I come through this I just want a big fight at Super-Featherweight or Lightweight I am not too fussed.” Since losing in the ninth round of a close fight against Wood, Mould has beaten Cristian Narvaez and Josue Bendana on points. He added: “I don’t do this for money. I am all right in that sense and don’t have those worries. I box for the right fight and titles. “I don’t take short notice jobs. I want to give myself every possibility to win a fight. “We have had decent offers, but it’s the call at three weeks notice to fight Anthony Cacace. No problem, but give us a camp.” A second title contest will be another all Yorkshire battle when Leeds warrior Zahid Hussein (16-2, 2 KOs) meets old rival, Razaq Najib (12-4, 2 KOs) for the vacant English Super-Bantamweight title. The undercard, which will be announced next week, will be shown on VIP boxing’s YouTube channel with both championship bouts live on SportyStuffTV (@Sky 437 @Freesat 250 @Freeview 264 and Tickets prices £40 general and £60 ringside are available from, all boxers on the bill and 01942 874241.
