Date of Birth: 21/4/96
From: Cork, Ireland
Record: 6-0 (2 KO)
Weight: Super-Welterweight
Stance: Orthodox

JOHNNY found it comfortable on his debut in September 2021 winning all four rounds against fellow first-timer Jake Bray. It was even easier for the Irishman when he returned in March 2022 stopping Hungarian Gabor Kavocs in the first round, with his rivals bloodied and under heavy pressure.

In May he had to be content with another clear points win over four rounds, when he overcame former Central Area champion, Josh Morgan who recently returned after a long lay-off.

The following month he was pushed all the way by Southampton’s Evgenii Vazem winning a thriller 39-37 at AJ Bell Stadium. In November 2022 he faced Bray again over six rounds in the semi-final of VIP Boxing’s four man tournament.

At the end of six action packed rounds, Kiely was a clear winner but like anyone who faces Bray knew he’d been in a battle. In March 2023, he faced Rhys Woods in the final where the vacant Central Area Super- Welterweight title was on the line.

Kiely didn’t disappoint in a keenly contested battle, dropping his rival twice before Woods trainer Ryan Bradley threw the towel in during round six.
