MARC LEACH leapt from virtual obscurity in October 2020 with a shock win over Qais Ashfaq on a behind closed doors show that was live on Sky Sports.
Leach leapt up to super-bantamweight for the chance to take on Ashfaq in their British eliminator.

It was a magnificent performance from the Salford man who floored his rival twice. He refused to be denied and was a deserved winner after ten rounds.
The breakout win should have booked him a crack at British 122lb champion Brad Foster, but to his surprise was ordered to face Thomas Essomba in a final eliminator in early June 2021. Leach’s fine run of form continued and although he was pushed all the way he claimed the decision after 12 rounds (115-112 x 2 and 115-113).

He is now guaranteed his crack. Jason Cunningham who is British, Commonwealth and European, must face Leach or relinquish his domestic crown. Marc kept busy for the big ‘un in December 2021 when a body shot finished off Stefan Nicolae after just 26 seconds of round one. Leach turned professional in September 2014 and suffered a debut points loss to Bobby Jenkinson who four fights later became Commonwealth champion.

Marc has remained undefeated since with the only blemish, back in July 2018 when he travelled to Zimbabwe and drew against local fighter Tapiwa Tembo. In May 2019, he picked up his English 118lb title with a clear points win over Brett Fidoe. It’s a title Leach still holds although he is yet to defend that crown. Nigel Travis and Jamie Moore trained Leach is a devoted family man and works 6pm-3am shifts at an Argos warehouse.
