FORMER ABAE Elite finalist McKay returned in November 2022 after a three-and-a-half year absence. The skilled boxer showed little sign of any ring rust winning all four rounds against Yorkshireman Ryan Labourn.

Mike turned professional in March 2018 and had three fights in 14 months before taking a break where he outpointed Imantas Davidatis, Ivo Zednicek and Elvis Dube without losing a round.

He was shocked in March 2023 when tough and rugged scouser Bradley Davies held him to a draw over six rounds. Although McKay was floored in round five he looked to have edged the fight. Promoter Steve Wood plans a rematch on his next Liverpool show.
